About Me

I am a 2024 recipient of the Thouron Award. As a Thouron Scholar, I attend the London School of Economics where I am completing the Master of Science degree in Philosophy and Public Policy.

In May 2024, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania summa cum laude, with departmental honors, and an induction into Phi Beta Kappa. My undergraduate thesis was titled “A Critique of Epistemic Injustice: Explaining Unstable Relationships Between Epistemic Credit and Identity Illuminated by the Deaf Experience” and was supervised by Dr. Daniel Wodak. At the University of Pennsylvania, I was a Writing Fellow at the Marks Family Center for Excellence in Writing. I also worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant in the philosophy department for Bioethics.

Since starting my master’s in September 2025, at the LSE, I primarily focus on philosophy of science, decision theory, and medical ethics. My master’s dissertation focused on elevating the evidentiary status of mechanisms in rare disease medicine was titled “Going for Gold: A Proposal to Raise the Evidentiary Status of Mechanisms in Rare Disease Medicine.” It was supervised by philosopher of physics, Dr. Miklos Redei.

Since 2020, I have hosted a philosophy podcast called Emma-ism. Inspired by my work on Penn’s campus helping peers master philosophy and supported by my work portfolio resulting from regular podcasts, I published my first book, “How to Excel in Undergraduate Philosophy” in 2022. It was named the #1 New Release in Philosophy Reference on Amazon for several weeks after its initial release.

Currently, I am also the President of the inaugural Young Alumni Council (YAC) of the Collegium Institute. The YAC council is made up of former undergraduate and graduate student fellows; and, members converse in strategic dialogue with Collegium’s directors, Trustees, students, and diverse network of supporters in order to further the organization’s mission. Alongside my role as Co-President, I am the Chair of the Membership and Networking sub-committee, ensuring longevity of the board’s impact and consistent member interaction.
